When does everything start? What’s the schedule?

If you’re coming on Friday, then things will get started around 5:30.

On Saturday (the “Main Event”) you can arrive anytime after 3:00. But if you do come on Friday, then it’s not like you have to leave until 3PM the next day, obviously. You can just hang around, chill out, set off fireworks on the lawn with Walt, play with sparklers indoors, etc (kidding! We love to kid.)

Sunday brunch, assuming we haven’t been forced off the property by then, will take place at 11:30.

What kind of attire is expected?

Whatever you want! This isn’t a wedding; this is more of a belated celebration of our marriage. Think of a cross between a less-stuffy reception and reunion-type soiree. Dress in shindig attire, in other words (it’s going to be in March in CT, so it might be too cold for hoedown attire, however).

Are pets/children allowed?

Children are allowed but if they get to be a bit much then we’ll release the Babadook to round them up, or if that doesn’t work, then we’ll institute Toddler Fight Club. Pets, unfortunately, are not allowed, as this is an Airbnb with a no-pets policy.

Is this weekend 420-friendly?

If you smoke or vape, please do it outside and a little bit away from the main house. Cigarette smoking isn’t allowed on this property.

What are some nearby hotels?

There are a variety of reasonably priced hotels close to the mansion for you to choose from. We’re sharing some options for mid-range, 3-star level hotels but feel free to find a place that suits your needs if you don’t think these will do the trick!

What’s the itinerary? What’s going on the whole weekend?

Our focus is very much going to be on catching up with friends and family, and ensuring we have lots of quality time with everyone, so the weekend itinerary will be very fluid and casual. For anyone in the area on Friday evening, we’re going to host an informal BBQ at the mansion (once we gain access). This means grilled food, snacks, and plenty of drinks. It’ll be too cold at that time to use the pool but we’ll have access to the whole mansion and grounds so there will be plenty to explore.

Saturday morning we’re going to be setting up for the bigger party. You are welcome to come hang out in the morning, but if you’d like some down time before the party that is more than fine! The party will be super casual; we’re talking lots of food, lots of drinks, chatting and sharing stories, capturing candid pictures of everyone, games, and music (dancing is optional). Come for some or come for all of it!

If you’re still in the area on Sunday morning, we’ll be having a light brunch of bagels and fruit and mimosas, and making sure to hang out with everyone as much as possible before we have to see people off and clean up the joint. Every day is geared to be as low stress and as much fun as possible.

#1 – Because Christina will be super busy with this and other stuff, and Walt has the organizational skills and follow-through of a toddler, the point person to contact if you have any questions during this time is our good friend David Prevost, 413-265-1180. He’s a great guy and extremely helpful and friendly!
